After psychedelia came to a boil in the late 60s, the blues and rock heroes of the 50s took a brief but thrilling walk on the wild side, with fuzz guitars, wah-wah effects, and epic jams to the fore. It was the Age of Aquarius, and the blues was busy being psychedelicized. When African-American innovators of the 50s met Black Power and Flower Power head on, the psychedelic blues was born. The band went through a variety of line-up changes until they recorded their first album as a power trio consisting of Joe Walsh, Tom Kriss and Jim Fox. Dale Peters replaced Kriss on bass for the band's second and third albums. The band had two hit songs, Funk 49 and Walk Away, which continue to be popular on classic rock and AOR stations. In 1972, Walsh left to pursue a solo career and would later join the Eagles. The band continued on with a variety of other guitarists and lead singers to replace Walsh. A fantastic classic rock album from start to finish featuring the legendary Tommy Bolin on guitar as well as taking over the song writing duties for the departed Joe Walsh. Roy Kenner serves up arena rock vocals and the steady and under-rated rhythm section of Peters and Fox make this an absolute must-have. Tracks like 'Ride The Wind', 'Got No Time For Trouble' and the Bolin-lead 'Alexis' never garnered much FM fanfare but as are as relevant and as genuine as it gets. Bolin's guitar work is in the next stratosphere offering solos as tasty as a barrel of KFC.
