The band's debut was hardly groundbreaking, but you could hear that there was a chance that the guys could expand upon those initial ideas and possibly gain some originality. Sadly, all it takes is one listen to Unstable to realize that Adema was satisfied to stick to the formula. Released August 19, 2003. Unstable Tracklist. Co-Dependent Lyrics. About Unstable. Even before writing songs for their sophomore album, tensions had grown between second guitarist Mike Ransom and frontman Mark Chavez, and between Chavez and the rest of the band. Unstable peaked at 43 in the US, with its title track being the only song to appear on the rock chart and become their highest charter in the UK, but it ultimately sold just over 100,000 copies in its first year about one-sixth the sales of their previous album. The band formed in 2000 with members vocalist Mark Chavez, guitarist Tim Fluckey, guitarist Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo, and drummer Kris Kohls. After their first two albums, Adema, and Unstable, the band was plagued with years of conflict and lineup changes. Ransom left the band in 2003 followed by Chavez later in 2004 due to conflicts between themselves and other members of the band. The Way You Like It, Immortal, Giving In и другие песни. Adema is the self-titled debut album by American nu metal band Adema. It was released on August 21, 2001 through Arista Records and peaked at 27 on the Billboard 200. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America RIAA on March 6, 2002 for selling over 500,000 copies in the United States, and has since sold over 1 million copies worldwide. The major singles from the album were The Way You Like It and Giving In. Freaking Out has also seen some radio airplay. Adema's self-titled debut CD on Arista is a solid modern rock album similar to Staind's Break the Cycle, Korn's Issues, Tool's Aenima, or Limp Bizkit's Significant Other. The album is not terribly challenging or revolutionary but manages to remind the listener of other hard acts without sounding derivative. That is a major success in the overpopulated genre Adema inhabits. Giving In was the first single released to radio and was a good choice. The highly melodic song and Close Friends should be popular with fans of Staind's It'. Adema is an American nu metal band. Giving In. Human Nature. The Way You Like It. Categories: Artists. Following their self-titled album, Adema released Unstable in 2003 during the Nu Metal "craze." This time, Adema borrows less from hip-hop and more from metal. Like their previous album, listen for themes of betrayal, self-harm, and helplessness, Chavez once again delivers the sound of desperation and pain in his vocal performance, matching the lyrical themes of each track.

The tracks follow a loose narrative, beginning with a co-dependent relationship and ending with laments of a scorned, tired lover looking back on the person for whom they once cared. The final track, "Needles" departs from the tempo of prior tracks and starts off with a galloping drum, leading into a whisper that rises to an angry, if not furious, scream declaring scorn and hatred for the dirty needles that once muddied his veins with heroin. "Needles" is the apex of the album and declares the narrators aggravated separation from the addiction he once shared with his former lover.

In closing, this album is crushingly oppressive and doesn't ease up for a moment. Lyrically, It has more similarities to Doom Metal and Post-Hardcore than Nu Metal. Musically, this album is a solid entry into the Nu Metal genre and handles a depressing, mature subject matter with all the subtlety of a wrecking ball's kiss.

Fans of Linkin Park will find similarities between this album and "Meteora," and "Hybrid Theory." If you enjoy this album, I recommend following it up with Glassjaw's "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence." You will find similar themes played over a thrashier, post-hardcore sound. In particular, I recommend the track "Siberian Kiss," as it most follows the harsh subject matter tackled by Adema's "Unstable.
